ATG Access
Stand G16 & Tabletop 11 on Day 2
ATG Access designs, manufactures, installs and services intelligent, physical security solutions to protect critical national infrastructure and sensitive sites around the world from hostile vehicle or vehicle as a weapon terrorism.
We take a holistic approach to physical security, offering bespoke design, project management and electrical commissioning, technical consultation, project advice, aftersales and maintenance support.
Boasting a vast portfolio of certified products, with automatic, manually retractable, fixed, removeable, shallow mounted and bridge protection applications, we have completed well in excess of 100 full scale impacts tests to the PAS 68, IWA-14, ASTM and DOS standards.
Our inhouse engineering capabilities allow us to tackle almost any installation issue that may arise, be it, encountering underground services, bridge camber, shallow available depth or double expansion beams on bridges, to name a few. We have a proven track record of developing appropriate solutions, to mitigate site issues, to satisfy both aesthetic and security needs.

ATG Access Core Range & Bespoke Solutions BrochureOur Core Range and Bespoke Solutions brochure features our SP400 range of products, a complete suite of Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) security bollards, across a range of applications, designed to complement each other through their similar bollard diameter, and aesthetic capability. Allowing you to secure your site with products that all look the same on the surface, but can perform different functions, and provide different levels of security, depending on your requirements. We pride ourselves in our inhouse bespoke engineering capabilities, from developing standalone Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) structures, like statues and signage, to mitigating complex on site restrictions, such as shallow available depth, double expansion joints and bridge camber. Our Core Products and Bespoke Solutions Brochure details a handful of case studies, where our bespoke engineering capabilities have ensured successful project completion.

Westminster Bridge Protection Bollard
Having pioneered shallow mount technology since its invention, ATG Access is proud to introduce our shallowest technology yet. This innovative new Westminster Bridge Protection Bollard sits within just a 40mm deep base plate, allowing it to sit within a bridge kerb.
To test this new technology, our iconic Westminster high-security bollard was fitted into the super shallow foundation structure and tested at a shallow angle of attack to be suitable for bridge protection.
The Westminster Bridge Protection Bollard was tested at 48kph (30mph), with an angle of attack to simulate a realistic bridge attack. Tested to both PAS 68 and IWA 14 the bollard was tested in an array of five achieving a penetration of less than 1m.
The biggest challenge when it comes to bridge protection is ensuring that the structural integrity of the bridge deck is not compromised when installing security measures. Our new technology solves this with its super shallow foundation structure.
The foundation and socket design can incorporate other bollard types and shapes if required. Aesthetically, the bollard can look however is required above ground to suit the surrounding area and urban design.
The Westminster bollard is instantly recognisable with its ribbed profile and peaked top. Within the front fascia, there is a specifically designed section to enable a corporate logo or crest to be inserted and supplied with a primed finish as standard.
The bollard is manufactured from micro-engineered steel which has high impact resistance and the ability to absorb massive amounts of energy without fracturing, making it an ideal option for high-security products. Manganese steel is also renowned for its abrasion resistance adding to the longevity of the bollard.

Populus Bridge Protection Bollard
The Populus Bridge Protection Bollard has a revolutionary slim core, able to fit a wealth of aesthetic options and a height above ground deemed ‘cycle friendly’.
This system was impact tested at to the PAS 68 standard, successfully arresting a 7,500kg vehicle travelling at 48 kph (30mph). As with our Westminster Bridge Bollard, the test simulated a bridge attack and so as such, the angle of attack was 30º. The bollard performed incredibly well and achieved minimal penetration (<0.5m).
The Populus Bridge Protection Bollard only requires a true depth of 40mm for installation; no other upstanding structure is required. No mechanical bolting or fixings are required during installation, the array simply sits within a very shallow excavation which may be planed away.
A minimum array of 7 bollards is required and then individual modules can be added in singular units to cover the length required. The layout can accommodate a gap in the foundation between adjacent arrays to accommodate bridge expansion joints.
This innovative product is not designed to be reliant on digging into a sub-structure unlike other systems and can articulate to accommodate cambers and contours in a bridge structure.
Aesthetically, due to a low bollard height, the system is cycle friendly. The bollard can be sleeved with an aesthetic sleeve whilst still providing an incredibly slim profile. Historic or heritage sleeve designs can be accommodated if required. The slim high-security core of this system can easily accommodate special aesthetics.

Bridge Deck Expansion Beam
This physical security solution can be used to span across bridge expansion joints to ensure that security measures are consistent along the length of a bridge deck. It can also be used to span across other obstructions such as service chambers or manhole covers.
The Bridge Deck Expansion Beam was impact tested to the IWA 14-1 standard, successfully arresting a 7,200kg vehicle travelling at 48 kph. The test simulated a bridge attack where the angle of attack was 30º. The system performed incredibly well and achieved a minimal dynamic penetration of 0.2m. The Bridge Deck Expansion Beam was fitted on two Populus Bridge Bollards, with unconnected foundations, simulating a wide double bridge expansion joint.
The structural foundation depth required for this system is only 40 mm, no other upstanding structure is required. The beam can be removed to allow for occasional vehicular access.
The Populus Bollard system onto which this beam is mounted requires no structural connection to the bridge deck and can articulate to accommodate for changes in the camber of the structure.
The system can be clad to accommodate a wide range of aesthetic options including bespoke heritage design. ATG’s design and engineering team can work closely with client design and architectural teams to ensure that the appropriate aesthetic is achieved.
The system has been designed to ensure that there are no exposed cavities into which foreign objects may be placed. This is important when considering the overall security of the system.
