Mark Snelling

President Elect, The Association for Project Safety

Mark Snelling is President Elect of the Association for Project Safety, a health, safety and fire consultant for the Property Institute, member of the HSE’s Interim Industry Competence Committee’s Capability & Capacity Workgroup and a founder Director of the Building Safety Alliance.

After starting work as a construction project manager, he moved into health and safety and then into fire safety. He worked extensively as CDM compliance as a Planning Supervisor, CDM Coordinator and Principal Designer. He is chartered builder (MCIOB), Graduate member of IOSH (Grad IOSH) and Fellow of the Association of Project Safety (FaPS).

He has developed and implemented safety management systems for a number of organisations including Ernst & Young, SEMA Group UK, SAS Scandinavian Airlines and the Rugby Football Union [RFU].

He is technical author of the Property Institute health and safety and fire safety guidance notes and has written guidance for the Association for Project Safety and Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management.

He is currently a consultant and trainer providing strategic advice on compliance with the Building Safety Act and its secondary legislation.
