Educated at University of Bergen, cand.scient. in applied mathematics. Sixteen years' experience at Leirvik AS, first ten years as designer and discipline lead for offshore Living Quarters from aluminium (structural weights of 300–1500 tonnes), then six years with research and development of aluminium bridges. Member of the Norwegian Aluminium Committee since 2012.
