Consultant, Mott MacDonaldDavid Place is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and in a 50 year career has worked on the analysis, design and construction of long span bridges and viaducts for highway, railway and mass transit projects. In recent years he has held technical advisor and peer review roles on major UK and international railway projects including currently the design and construction of the Curzon Street Station approach viaducts.
He has been a long-time member of the UK Steel Bridge Group, the technical forum that considers matters of high priority interest to the steel bridge construction industry in the UK and publishes wide ranging guidance for industry.
